Peanut Butter Cup Bars
1 Cup melted butter
3 1/2 Cups powdered sugar (1#)
1 1/2 Cups graham cracker crumbs
1 1/2 Cups peanut butter (or any nut butter)
Pat in pan.
Frost with 12 oz. melted chocolate chips.
I didn’t have peanut butter so I went with Almond butter (about the only healthy thing in this batch of bars) and used Candy-Quick as my chocolate. It’s all about cleaning the pantry out over here. Also – not only did I not know I had a 7 lb bag of powdered sugar, but upon further cleaning of the cupboards – I also have 3 other misc bags of powdered sugar laying around. WHAT was I using this crap for? Oh right, these bars.
Melt your butter.
Add all your ingredients to a bowl. In no particular order, really.
And then mix ’em up. Towards the end of mixing I generally get my hands dirty. Literally. Use your hands.
Pat in pan.
Melt yourself some devil chocolate. Your behind hates me, I know.
Spread over bars and let cool.
In the meantime pretend that you just used a spatula to clean out this bowl and not your finger. We all know you’re more civilized than that, aren’t you? Me? Of course I used the spatula. And then put it directly in the sink to clean, NOT in my mouth. At all. Uh Uh. (Slurrp, burp)
Look at that, all ready to eat. They look awful don’t they?
But they’ll get the stamp of approval. I guarantee it.
A couple notes: Because the Almond Butter is a more mild nut butter and I used the milk chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate chips – mine were WAY too sweet for my taste, but obviously not Jessica’s. I probably wouldn’t make them again with Almond Butter for this reason and I’d much rather a darker chocolate as the topping.
