It’s a fact that since the birth of Oliver my organizational skills have seriously taken a back seat over here. Not that they were anything to brag about before that but at least I felt like I knew what was in my pantry and could figure small task things out before reeking havoc on my file system.
This is no longer true.
Apparently I have this unknown need to buy garbanzo beans from the grocery store EVERY single time I go. What do I do with them, you ask? NOTHING! I buy them. End of story. They sit in my pantry – scoffing at me. I have everything I need to make hummus but do I? Oh, no. That would require skill – skill I no longer poses.
This same need refers to the five 24 oz cans of tomato sauce I have in my pantry, also. I like to buy this because I love the idea of making my own spaghetti sauce – which we no longer eat over here as often as we once did. Old habits die hard I suppose.
Aaaand – all that vinegar I just bought today at Sams Club? Yeah – should have checked that darn pantry seeing as how I have a back up JUG currently waiting for me. Well, I guess now I have 3. Awesome.
I need an intervention from the organizational fairy godmother. Please help, Fairy Godmother!! I’m drowning!!
I just swallowed my words and made hummus. I was wrong, I do not have everything I need to make it – but I still tried. And failed. Part of the wooden spoon used to stir it in the blender is now part of the hummus. Hmm.
Reminder to check expiration dates on Tahini.
Fallish of 2008 is no longer sage, FYI.
i could use some vinegar…. š
and seriously? garbanzo bean brownies. Jill recipe.
Ooooh – just pulled up that recipe and plan on making them later today. thanks for reminding me!
You need help with vinegar usages, well you can use it when you dye Easter Eggs, or you can add it to your laundry 1/2 detergent and 1/2 vinegar!
